Blackheads Treatment – What Works and What Doesn’t

Finding a blackheads treatment that works for you can be tough. Everyone has different genetics, so a treatment that works well for one person may be useless to the next. That’s why the best thing to do is to try several different treatments and see which one works best.

First, let me explain what blackheads are. These are basically skin pores that are more open than normal. The substance that is found in these pores is called keratin which is a modified sebum which oxidizes as it’s exposed to the air. This oxidation is what causes them to turn the black color that we all know and hate.

Sebum is the same oil that leads to the production of pimples. This is part of why they can be so hard to get rid of unless you have a good blackheads treatment.

So what can you do to help get rid of them? There are several different options available if you go to a professional. One common option is to use hormonal treatments. These are usually taken orally and are one of the oldest ways of treating blackheads by dermatologists. This can be a very effective method for most people.

Another option is to thoroughly clean your face with a very good cleanser. To get the most out of this blackheads treatment, you should try to find a cleanser meant for people with oily skin. A good example is a salicylic acid cleanser.

There are always new drugs coming out on the market to help treat blackheads. Most of these are administered orally and can be prescribed by your dermatologist. A good example of one of these medicines is called adapalene.

A common home remedy is to simply wash your face twice a day in warm, salty water. This will help remove the oil from your face without aggravating the acne too much. This will help reduce the blackheads and prevent more from occurring.

You can also try mixing 1 tsp of limejuice with 1 tsp of powdered cinnamon. Apply it when you go to bed each night, and then wash it off in the morning. Note that this will not work for everyone, but it is a pretty effective home blackheads treatment.

Believe it or not, fresh mint juice can also help. Not only will it help your skin smell good, but when you put it on every night it will help the blackheads go away pretty quickly.

If you have recurring blackheads and acne on your face that you can’t seem to get rid of, there are a number of acne treatments available that will work for both your blackheads and your acne pimples.

Good luck, and please let me know if you need any more advice on a good blackheads treatment!
